Introducing Payroll Giving to your workplace can be good for your business - it helps build employee relations and clearly shows your commitment to helping your community.

The scheme is inexpensive to run and involves minimal staff time; it works in the same way as pension or union deductions. What's more, you get a deduction against your profits for your costs.

Three-step plan:

  • Register with an agency charity such as theCharities Aid Foundationwhich can process employee donations to Charities @ Work.
  • Talk to a professional fundraising organisation (PFO) about running an internal promotion. PFO’s such as Sharing the Caring or Payroll Giving in Action can manage the whole process.
  • Promote the scheme effectively - let employees know they can give to their chosen charities tax-free every pay day
